What is transforming violence?

Transforming Violence offers opportunities for people to participate in innovative strategies for preventing, stopping and healing violence:

Our goal is to inspire hope, invite participation, and activate citizen-led transformation.

Our method is to build social intelligence and communicate opportunities for active involvement in transformative approaches to violence. Transforming Violence is developing new forms of community events, exhibitions, and education that introduce people to innovative ideas and tools for addressing violence at all levels of society.

Exhibition at Eden Project. Cultivating Community: Gardens that Grow Peace and Hope was our exhibition at the Eden Project in England (during Time of Gifts, Winter 2004-5). It highlighted gardening as a way of building community and transforming violence in 10 countries, including some of the most troubled places in the world. The exhibition included shrines, conversations and storytelling. For more information, see Cultivating Community at the Eden Project.
